A craniomandibular dysfunction (CMD/TMD) describes an imbalance in the interplay of the jaw joints, masticatory muscles and teeth. It can manifest, among other things, through jaw joint sounds, tension, headaches or nocturnal teeth grinding (bruxism). We analyse the function of your masticatory system in a structured way and derive from it an individual, gentle therapy.
Our approach
On the basis of a clinical functional analysis we assess the jaw joint, muscles and bite situation. An individually made bite splint or grinding splint is often used, intended to relieve the masticatory system and relax the muscles – if required in coordination with physiotherapy or other specialist disciplines.

FAQ
How do I recognise a TMD?
Possible signs are jaw joint sounds, morning tension, headaches or neck pain and teeth grinding. A functional analysis provides clarity.
What does a bite splint achieve?
An individually made splint can relieve the masticatory system and relax the muscles. It is matched to your bite situation.
Does my health insurance cover the cost?
Part of the functional therapy can be covered by statutory health insurance. We inform you transparently about the scope in advance.
